At 2 p.m. Moscow time on August 17, the International Conference on the Role of BRICS Cities in National Digital Development in the Future officially kicked off in Moscow, Russia. Invited by the Organizing Committee of the BRICS International Municipal Forum, our company and the Investment Promotion Bureau of Yantai Economic and Technological Development Zone attended the conference via video link. We introduced the investment environment of the development zone and sincerely invited friends from all over the world to invest and start businesses here.
BRICS stands for five emerging economies: China, Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa. For years, the bloc has spoken with one voice on major international and regional issues, boosting the representation and voice of emerging and developing countries. Hosted by Russia, the rotating BRICS chair, this year's BRICS Municipal Forum themed The Role of BRICS Cities in National Digital Development in the Future gathered politicians, business leaders and scholars from the five member states. Participants delivered insightful speeches covering the application of digital technologies in urban governance, coordination among BRICS nations, regions and municipal governments, as well as how local cooperation drives regional socio-economic growth.
